English Premier League side West Ham United Football Club today unveiled their home kit for the 2015/16 season. The shirt pays tribute to The Hammers’ home for 112 years – The Boleyn Ground. It will be on sale at World Soccer Shop, Kitbag, Subside Sports and UK Soccer Shop.
As such the West Ham 2015/16 Umbro home shirt is full of historical references that start with its design being inspired by the first kit that the club wore at The Boleyn during their 1904 season.
It uses a brand new classic design from Umbro with a ribbed, rounded collar with contrasting blue mesh detail. The Umbro logo and West Ham crest area in gold along with text reading “BOLEYN GROUND 1904 – 2016” beneath the badge and on the upper back of the jersey. The text on the back incorporates the use of the stadium’s famous gates.
As was the case in 1904, The Boleyn Kit is completed by white shorts and claret socks. The shorts include a contrast claret trim and blue drawstring. The socks have a blue hoop reminiscent of West Ham kits of the 1940s and early 1950s.
