Nike has unveiled the home and away kits to be worn by the Hong Kong national football teams during the 2014-16 period.
The red home kit will be seen in action around the world on October 14th when Hong Kong hosts 2014 World Cup finalists Argentina in their biggest friendly of the year. The mainly white away uniform will be worn when Hong Kong meet North Korea.
Released under the theme “HK FIGHT”, the 2014/16 Hong Kong playing range feature current Nike football shirt designs that were released ahead of this summer’s World Cup. The home jersey is minimalistic with a crew neck collar and vertical stripes in three shades of red. A subtle chevron appears within the striping.
Hong Kong’s 14/16 alternate jersey uses the very popular Nike polo collared look made famous by the USA during their run to the Round of 16 of the World Cup. Its black collar and red sleeve cuffs ensure that all three colors of the Hong Kong Football Association are incorporated into the shirt.
Hong Kong is currently ranked 164th in the world by FIFA. The team’s best placing in a major tournament was third in the 1956 AFC Asian Cup.
