Brazilian Eyewear Brand Chilli Beans Releases 2014 World Cup Collection

Published on

In honor of this year’s World Cup destination and the eyewear brand’s country of origin, Chilli Beans has created “ Soccer Fever”- which consists of a number of new optical, sunglass, and watch styles that pay tribute to Brazil’s passion for soccer.

The Chilli Beans design team was inspired by 3 concepts to create the Soccer Fever collection:

ERA DE OURO (GOLDEN ERA)
1958-1970- considered the “Golden Era” of Brazilian soccer when the county won its first 3 World Cups, each of the eyewear and watch styles include a star motif that represent victory.

MANDINGA
Inspired by the wide array of superstitions, prayers and faith that fans depend on to support their team, here each product has a specific icon believed to help a team reign over its enemy- from the print of the Senhor do Bonfim “wish” wristband and four leaf clovers to pepper and a wood-like finish which represents “knocking on wood 3 times.

VINTAGE
Combining stories from the past of both the World Cup and soccer as a whole, this collection was inspired by Brazil’s unprecedented 5 time World Championship, as well as the first transmission of soccer on the radio, the world of women’s soccer, and styles that pay tribute to the first ever world champion- Uruguay.

All styles are currently available at Chilli Beans stores worldwide and will soon be available at www.chillibeans.com.
