Club América Clausura 2014 Nike “Mexico” Jersey
All of Nike’s Liga MX teams will wear kits in the colors of the Mexican national football team during the current round of league action. We will be looking at all of these special edition jerseys of the next few days starting with that worn by Mexico City-based giants Club América.
Las Águilas (The Eagles) debuted their “El Tri” inspired uniform during Saturday’s 1-2 loss to league leaders Cruz Azul at the Estadio Azteca.
The new shirt a similar Nike design to the Club America 2013/14 home and away jerseys in two shades of green separated by the kit’s prominent frontal V-shape. All of its accents are in white while the club badge uses a mainly green color scheme with gold added in.
As with the Mexico national team jersey, the green America shirt is matched with white pants and red socks to ensure that the strip has all of the colors of the country’s national flag.
Seven Club América players were called up for Mexico’s last international – a 2-2 draw with the USA on Wednesday night.
