Reissue: Mexico 1994 World Cup Umbro Home and Away Jerseys

Published on

Former Federación Mexicana de Fútbol(FMF) technical sponsors Umbro have released reissues of the home and away jerseys worn by Mexico at the 1994 FIFA World Cup in the USA.

The green home and white and red away jerseys use the same Aztec-inspired designs worn by El Tri greats such as Claudio Suárez, Hugo Sánchez and Zague twenty years ago. Given that the FMF has since switched kit providers to Nike and then adidas, their badge does not appear on the shirt.

Pooled with Italy, Ireland and Norway in what was the “Group of Death” of the competition, Mexico managed one win, one draw and one loss to top the top. El Tri went on to lose to eventual semi-finalists Bulgaria in a penalty kick shootout in the Round of 16 of USA ’94.
