COPA Football Spring Summer 2014 Collection

COPA has launched its Spring Summer 2014 collection (now available at Subside Sports), and again the football brand has joined forces with well-known football photographers and graphic designers.

In total, the Spring Summer 2014 collection of COPA consists of more than 100 fashionable ‘Designed by…’ T-shirts that all have football as inspiration. In addition, several new retro shirts and jackets are added to the COPA Classic line. The COPA Vintage line is complemented by three new designs.

Part of the new ‘Designed by…’ line is the collaboration with Stuart Roy Clarke. The highly acclaimed British football photographer captured stadiums in all corners of the UK in the early 1990’s. Clarke enjoys worldwide popularity amongst football fans and his work is shown on www.homesoffootball.co.uk and in his book ‘The Cradle of the Game’.

There is even a permanent exhibition at the National Football Museum in Manchester. COPA thought it was about time to team up, and as a result, two new T-shirt designs are added to the collection.

At the same time in the 1990’s, Marco Magielse travelled across the European mainland photographing many iconic stadiums. With his great eye for football photography, Magielse created an extensive archive of impressive football images through the years.

He explains: “The average football photographer is above all interested in what is happening on the pitch. I try not only to capture the event, but also the atmosphere in the stadium.” The attention of COPA was triggered.

Amongst Clarke and Magielse, other designers who have contributed to the ‘Designed by…’ line are Jurgen van Zachten, Reinaldo Coddou H. and Steve Welsh.
