The South African Rugby Union signed a deal with Asics last year that will see all of South Africa’s national rugby teams wear kits from the Japanese sportswear company from 1 January 2014 to 31 December 2019.
Earlier this week, the South Africa Rugby Sevens team (or Blitzbokke) became the first of the rugby power’s sides to see unveil their 2014 Asics home uniform. Available soon at World Rugby Shop, Lovell Rugby, Canterbury and Kitbag, the South Africa Sevens 2014 Asics jersey departs from the traditional mainly dark green of the Springboks in favor of a mix of a light green that melds into a very dark green.
The new Blitzbokke kit will make its match debut at the Las Vegas Sevens on January 24. South Africa are currently in second place in the 2013-14 HSBC Sevens World Series after three tournaments.
