Sporting Kansas City defeated Real Salt Lake 7-6 in a penalty shootout on Saturday to win their second ever MLS Cup. The teams played to a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes of regular and extra time soccer.
Costa Rican international Alvaro Saborio put RSL ahead 1-0 in the 52nd minute before French defender Aurelien Collin headed in the equalizer in the 76th. Collin was awarded the MVP trophy for the match.
