Central American power Costa Rica will make its fourth FIFA World Cup appearance during the 2014 edition of the tournament. To celebrate qualification for Brasil 2014, the Federación Costarricense de Fútbol has released a special edition Lotto home jersey based on the shirt worn by Los Ticos at Italia 1990.
The new uses the vertical black and white stripes of the 1990 jersey worn in what was Costa Rica’s first ever World Cup campaign and the only one in which the team has advanced past the group stage to date. It was worn in match action during last week’s 1-0 friendly loss to Australia.
