Manchester City FC 2013/14 Nike Home Kit

Manchester City Football Club have unveiled their 2013/14 home kit from new technical sponsor Nike. It will be worn by The Citizens during their post-season USA tour and will be available at World Soccer Shop, Onionbag.com and Kitbag.

According tot he club website: Manchester City will play in their first ever Nike home kit next season – a kit that pays homage to their heritage while reflecting the modernity of the club.

The new home shirt is a classic football design, and unmistakably Manchester City, featuring a sky blue body with a white ribbed crew neck and white ribbed cuffs on the sleeves.

The collar and cuffs both also feature a dark blue trim to represent the colour of the socks City wore as a part of one of their first ever kits in 1892.

On this new shirt the Manchester City club crest is placed inside a shield shape. This is inspired by the city of Manchester’s coat of arms, which City used as their own club crest for special occasions including the 1956 FA Cup final.  

The new home shorts are white with a thin sky blue stripe along each side, while the new home socks are white with a sky blue band at the top with a dark blue trim to represent the socks the club wore for over half a century from 1892.

Fans in St. Louis and New York will be able to see the new kit for themselves when City step out at Busch Stadium and Yankee Stadium to play Chelsea, marking the beginning of an exciting new six-year partnership with global sports giant Nike, that will run until 2019.
