Swedish Football Association Signs Kit Deal with adidas

The Swedish Football Association (Svenska Fotbollförbundet) has signed a technical sponsorship deal with German sportswear giant adidas following the end of its contract with Umbro. The Sweden futsal team debuted what might be the Blågult’s (Blue-Yellow’s) 2013/14 home kit in a friendly with Denmark on Saturday.

According to a press release from adidas and the SvFF: The sponsorship will last for six starting on 1 January 2013. adidas will be SvFF’s exclusive supplier of gear for the Swedish mens, women’s, the youth national teams. adidas will also provide Sweden football official fan products.

adidas and Swedish Football have a long and successful history together. Several classic Swedish national team enjoyed much success with the iconic three stripes on their shirts including the World Cup 1994 team that placed third in the competition. adidas and SvFF have now signed a new multi-year partnership in the hopes of achieving new joint successes.

The goal is to create new iconic shirts for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers and finals. The pride that the players feel when wearing the Swedish national team jersey has been the starting point and will also be reflected in the design.

The Sweden adidas 2013/14 official match shirts will be presented at a press conference to be held on January 16th, 2013.
