Fourteen-time Mexican champion Club de Fútbol América (commonly called Club América or Club America) has launched a third jersey that will be worn during the upcoming Liga MX Clausura 2013 season. It will be available at World Soccer Shop, Tienda Fútbol Mundial, Onionbag and Soccer.com.
The new Águilas (Eagles) alternate jersey is all white and features a V-shaped band across its chest area. Made of blue, yellow and red rhomboids, the club says that the V-shape represents “Victory” while recalling elements of the team’s storied past. Indeed, the design is reminiscent of that on the Club América 1994 home shirt.
Fans who purchase the shirt at Club América shops can have their picture taken to be included in the numbers of the jerseys of their favorite players. The shirts featuring the fan pictures will be worn when América meets Toluca at th Estadio Azteca on February 16th in Round 7 of the Liga MX.
