The draw for the group stage of the 2012/13 UEFA Champions League took place in Monaco on Thursday.
The event saw Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund, Ajax Amsterdam and Real Madrid, reigning champions of four of Europe’s most competitive domestic leagues, drawn together in the competition’s Group D.
Defending champions Chelsea FC are pooled with 1984/85 and 1996/96 winners Juventus FC, Ukraine’s Shakhtar Donetsk and newcomers FC Nordsjælland of Denmark in Group C.
