Derby County Kappa 2012/13 Home Kit
English Football League Championship team Derby County FC has unveiled its Kappa home kit for the 2012/13 season. The Rams also recently released their 12/13 away strip.
According to the Derby County FC website: Produced by Derby’s new kit manufacturers Kappa, who last month signed a five-year partnership deal with the Rams, the skin fit strips are 100% polyester interlock with moisture wicking.
The kits have already been a big hit with supporters and with demand so high, a pre-order service is now available for both products.
Moving away from using the full Derby County logo on their shirts, the Rams have opted to display an embroidered outline Ram crest on all of their kits from the start of the new season.
The Club have decided to make this change to demonstrate that Derby County are ‘The Rams’, and also rekindle links with their heritage.
The outline Ram logo appeared on Derby’s shirts during the most successful period in the Club’s history in the early 1970s – winning the First Division title on two occasions, first under Brian Clough and then Dave Mackay – and also made a brief comeback in the early 1990s.
