Derby County Kappa 2012/13 Away Kit

Published on

English Football League Championship side Derby County FC has unveiled its Kappa away kit for the 2012/13 season.

According to The Rams’ website: Nigel Clough’s men will wear an all-black away strip on the road next season – which will also be accompanied with a hint of orange on Kappa’s logo as well as shirt sponsors BuyMobiles.net, which appear on the kit.

Moving away from using the full Derby County logo on their shirts, the Rams have opted to display an embroidered outline Ram crest on all of their kits from the start of next season.

The Club have decided to make this change to demonstrate that Derby County are ‘The Rams’, and also rekindle links with their heritage.

The outline Ram logo appeared on Derby’s shirts during the most successful period in the Club’s history in the early 1970s – winning the First Division title on two occasions, first under Brian Clough and then Dave Mackay – and also made a brief comeback in the early 1990s.

Produced by Derby’s new kit manufacturers Kappa, who last month signed a five-year partnership deal with the Rams, the all-black skin fit strip is 100% polyester interlock with moisture wicking.

The shirt will get an early run-out next season with Clough’s men expected to don the kit in their second league game of the season, away to Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday 21st August 2012.
