With English Premier League football secured for next season, Wigan Athletic have launched their 2012/13 home kit from technical sponsor MiFit.
According to the Lactics website: The new home kit, a return to blue and white vertical stripes, with a plain blue rear, is manufactured exclusively for Wigan Athletic by the club’s technical partner MIFIT.
Wigan Athletic Chief Executive Jonathan Jackson said: “We are delighted to wear our new home kit for the 2012-13 season on Sunday against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
“We were really pleased with this season’s kit which has proved very popular and next season’s Mifit designed strip is a return to stripes but at the same time maintaining blue as the dominant colour.
“As we celebrate 80 years as a football club it is a great shirt that combines different designs from our history.
“Although we originally wore red and white, since the 1940’s we have of course been blue and white.
“The stripes are synonymous with our first season as a League club and also our first season in the Premier League but the shirt is also a nod in the direction of the ‘braces’ kit worn in our first Northern Premier League season in 1968.
