Olympique Marseille adidas 2012/13 Third Kit

Reigning French Coupe de la Ligue champions Olympique Marseille have followed last weekend’s release of their new home kit with that of the OM 2012/13 adidas third kit. It will be worn by L’OM for the first time in league action on May 20th when the team travels to FC Sochaux-Montbéliard for both teams’ final match of the 11/12 season and is now available at World Soccer Shop.

The Olympique Marseille 12/13 third kit was designed by singer Akhenaton of the group IAM and France-Argentine sculptor Pablo Reinoso. It is reversible with a dark blue and orange primary side and a predominantly orange inside. Akhenaton suggested the use of OM’s orange in recognition of the South Winners supporters group and their firm anti-racism stance.

The reverse rear upper back area of the OM third jersey features a graphic created by Reinoso called “Planète Mars” that incorporates the following words of Akhenaton ‘s song “Lumière Orange”.

On porte l’azur sur nos épaules comme une seconde peau. Et nos cÅ“urs sont oranges comme au couchant sous les flots. Cela veut dire que malgré ce qui nous sépare, on est tous égaux. Les couleurs sont celles de nos valeurs et de nos idéaux.

The Olympique Marseille adidas 2012/13 third kit will be worn during the club’s domestic and European cup campaigns (Coupe de France, Coupe de la Ligue and UEFA Europa League) next season.
