Video: Real Madrid 2 – Bayern Munich 1 (UEFA Champions League Highlights)

FC Bayern Munich will host the final of the 2011/12 UEFA Champions League at the Allianz Arena on May 19th after defeating Real Madrid 3-1 on penalties on Wednesday at the Santiago Bernabeu. The home and away series went to a shootout after ending 3-3 on aggregate. Both legs finished 2-1 in favor of the home teams.

Two early goals from Cristiano Ronaldo gave Real the advantage in the series before Arjen Robben leveled from the penalty spot in the 27th. Neither team could break the aggregate deadlock in the second half or in extra time in what was an entertaining encounter throughout.

Real Madrid: Casillas; Arbeloa, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo; Khedira, Xabi Alonso; Di María, Özil (Granero, m.111), Cristiano Ronaldo;  Benzema (Higuain, m.106).

Bayern Munich: Neuer; Lahm, Boateng, Badstuber, Alaba; Luiz Gustavo, Schweinsteiger; Robben, Kroos, Ribery (Müller, m.95); Mario Gómez.

Goals: 1-0, m.6: Cristiano Ronaldo (penalty). 2-0, m.14: Cristiano Ronaldo. 2-1, m.27: Robben (penalty).

Penalty Shootout: 0-1: Alaba. 0-1: Cristiano Ronaldo. 0-2: Mario Gómez. 0-2: Kaká r. 0-2: Kroos. 1-2: Xabi Alonso. 1-2: Lahm. 1-2: Sergio Ramos. 1-3: Schweinsteiger.
