Chelsea FC are into the final of the 2011/12 UEFA Champions League after drawing with 2-2 with defending champions FC Barcelona at the Nou Camp on Tuesday. The results gave the London side a 3-2 aggregate win despite the ejection of captain John Terry in the 37th minute.
Barcelona deservedly went up 2-0 in the match after 43 minutes (2-1 on aggregate) on goals from Sergio Busquets and Andres Iniesta. Ramires restored Chelsea’s advantage in the home and away series with a decisive away goal in the 45th.
Barcelona dominated possession in the second half but failed to go ahead on a missed Lionel Messi penalty and several agonizingly close shots on goal. They were caught on the counter attack in the 90th when substitute Fernando Torres latched onto a clearance from his defence to tie the match at 2-2.
