Santos FC Nike 2012 Third Kit

Defending Copa Libertadores champions and FIFA World Club Cup 2011 finalists Santos FC have unveiled their Nike 2012 third kit (now available at Subside Sports) The eight time Campeonato Brasileiro Série A recently switched technical sponsors from Nike subsidiary Umbro to the American sportswear giant and unveiled their new home kit in February.

The Santos FC Nike 2012 third kit was launched on Friday night at the club’s Vila Belmiro in an event commemorate the 100th anniversary of Santos’ founding. The light blue used for the kits is intended to celebrate the colonial heritage of  the city of Santos, São Paulo and its harbor. It also represents the Itororó, situated at the foot of Mount Serrat.

“Menino da Vila desde 1912” (“Boy of the Village since 1912”) is inscribed inside the shirt’s back collar. The text “1912-2012” is printed above the Santos badge in recognition of the team’s centenary.

Amongst Brazil’s most popular and successful club’s, Santos FC has featured a slew of Brazilian superstars over the years including Dorval, Pelé, Nílton Batata, Pita, Robinho, Diego, Ganso and Neymar.
