Kashima Antlers is a professional soccer team currently playing in the Japanese J. League Division 1 (J1) and amongst Japan’s best-supported sides.

Since the J-League’s creation in 1993, Kashima has won the league title seven times and the Emperor’s Cup on four occasions. Kashima’s last league title came in the 2009 season while its last Emperor’s Cup triumph occured in the 2010 season.

Known for its ties to Brazilian soccer, Kashima currently features three Brazilian players and is managed by former Brazil assistant manager Jorginho. Brazilian legend Zico ended his storied career at Antlers when he represented the club from 1991 to 1994 and is regarded as a club icon.

On Tuesday, Kashima Antlers unveiled its much-anticipated Nike 2012 home, away and third kits. They  will feature during  the club’s 2012 J. League Division 1 and Emperor’s Cup campaigns. Kashima’s 6th place  league finish and 5th round Emperor’s Cup exit in 2011 means the club will miss the AFC Champions League for the first time since 2007 this season.
