Antonio Valencia scored one goal and assisted on another to lead Manchester United to a 2-1 win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in English Premier League action on Sunday.
The Ecuadorian midfielder opened the scoring in first half injury time when he headed in Ryan Giggs’ cross to give United a deserved lead. Team captain Robin van Persie equalized for the Gunners in the 71st with his league-leading 19th goal of the season. Danny Welbeck scored United’s winner in the 81st by slotting in Valencia’s low pass from inside the box.
Defending champions United remain in second in the 2011/12 Premier League table, three points behind leaders Manchester City, while Arsenal stay in fifth.
