Redesigned: Poland Nike EURO 2012 Home Kit / Jersey

A redesigned version of the Poland Nike EURO 2012 home jersey was relaunched on Friday and is now available at World Soccer Shop and Subside Sports. The first incarnation of the kit was unveiled on in early November and used for the Biało-czerwoni (white and reds) friendlies against Belarus, Italy and Hungary.

However, a well-publicized public outcry at the exclusion of Polish White Eagle (or Orzeł Biały) from the new Poland shirt led to it never being distributed to retailers by Nike and its redesign.

The updated version of the shirt was revealed on Friday by Nike Poland with the nation’s coat of arms appearing in the mid-chest area of the jersey. It should see action when the EURO 2012 co-hosts meet Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal in Warsaw on February 29th in friendly action.

“The new jersey represents our flag and our pride to play for the White and Red. This will be the most important year in Polish football history, so the jersey will be remembered for many years to come. We will fight to play the best we can,” said Kuba BÅ‚aszczykowski, captain of the Polish National Team and the face of Nike’s “United We Fight” campaign that celebrates the unity and spirit of the team.

“We were very impressed by the movement created by fans and the strength of their voice. Nike’s mission is to inspire and bring innovation to all athletes and sport fans around the world. This time we saw how fans can inspire and influence change in the world of sport,” said Christophe Merkel, GM, Nike Poland.
