Poland will co-host EURO 2012 along with Ukraine next summer. As the BiaÅ‚o-czerwoni (white and reds) prepare for international European soccer’s showpiece event, the Poland Nike EURO 2012 home kit has been launched. It will see action for the first time when Poland hosts Italy on November 11th in Wroclaw in an international friendly.
The Poland Nike EURO 2012 jersey is expected to be used by the team for its 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers during the 2012/13 international season. According to Nike, each shirt weighs only 149 grams, making them lightest soccer jerseys ever manufactured by firm. The shirts are made of recycled plastic bottles and, therefore, environmental friendly.
Poland will be looking to improve upon its group stage exit in EURO 2008. The team had never qualified for the European championship before then despite having strong teams which finished in third place in the 1974 and 1982 FIFA World Cups.
