France reached the final of the Rugby World Cup for the third time with a 9-8 win over Wales in Auckland, New Zealand on Saturday.
Wales Mike Phillips scored the only try of the match after 59 minutes in a loss marred by the dismissal of Wales captain Sam Warburton for a spear tackle on Vincent Clerc after 18 minutes. Penalties from Parra in the 22nd, 35th and 51st minutes put France up 9-3 before Phillips’ try.
