2014 FIFA World Cup Preliminary Draw

The preliminary draw for the 2014 FIFA World Cup was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Saturday. The draw sets the stage for the road to the finals in Brazil for all regional confederations.

Big matchups that resulted included reigning World Cup champions Spain and neighbors France pooled in European Group I and African powers Ivory Coast and Morocco being drawn together in continental group C of qualifying Round Two. In CONCACAF former Mexican boss and current Costa Rica manager Ricardo La Volpe set to meet Mexico in Group B of preliminary Round Three.
