Two goals from Diego Forlan and one from Luiz Suarez saw Uruguay defeat Paraguay 3-0 on Sunday in Buenos Aires to claim the Copa America 2011 title. Uruguay’s record 15th South American crown sees it join Brazil (hosts), Japan, Mexico and Spain at the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup.
With 20 of the 23 players who were part of Uruguay’s semi-final run in the 2010 FIFA World Cup on its roster, Uruguay dominated proceedings throughout with Suarez scoring in the 12th minute and Forlan in the 42nd and final minutes of the match.
