The United States Men’s National Soccer Team defeated Panama 1-0 on Wednesday night to qualify for the final of the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup. The USA’s appearance in Saturday’s final will be its fourth in a row.
Clint Dempsey scored for the USA in the 77th minute when he tapped in Landon Donovan’s on the ground pass from the right side of the penalty area. Donovan and fellow substitute Freddy Adu sparked the USA’s offence in what was a hard fought and tightly contested match.
The USA will face Mexico at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA for the regional title and a spot in in the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup.
