Real Madrid trounced Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 in the first leg of the teams’ quarter-final series of the 2010/11 UEFA Champions League on Tuesday. The result puts Real Madrid in excellent position to reach their first UEFA Champions League semi-final for eight years.
On loan striker Emmanuel Adebayor scored a double for the hosts before strikes from Ãngel Di María and Cristiano Ronaldo sealed the win over 10-man Hotspur.
The teams will contest the second leg of the series at Tottenham’s White Hart Lane Stadium in London on April 13th.
