The United States Men’s National Soccer Team came from a goal down to tie highly-rated Argentina 1-1 in front of a crowd of 78,936 at the New Meadowlands Stadium on Saturday in international friendly action.
Esteban Cambiasso gave Argentina a well-deserved lead in the 42nd minute as Lionel Messi and company dominated possession and outplayed the USA throughout much of the first half.
USA coach responded to his team’s disappointing first half performance with the introduction of debutant Timmy Chandler at left back and 18-year old forward Juan Agudelo after the break. The move paid off with Agudelo notching his second ever senior national team goal to tie the match when he knocked in Carlos Bocanegra’s rebounded header in the 59th.
The USA will now face Paraguay in Nashville, TN on Tuesday night while Argentina travels to Costa Rica for more friendly action.
