Germany adidas Women’s World Cup 2011 Home and Away Kits / Trikots

Published on

100 days before the start of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2011, the German women’s national team launched its 2011 kits. The German Football Federation (DFB) and adidas presented the new home and away jerseys of the DFB-women as part of the “100 Club Nights” on Thursday in Frankfurt am Main. The home kit is now available at World Soccer Shop.

The current World and European champions are the first ever team to wear a jersey, designed by women for women. The slightly fitted cut and the round and elegant shirt numbers make for a feminine design. A phrase can be found in the collar of the shirts reading “Blüh im Glanze dieses Glückes” from the German national anthem.

Designer Annette Kres said the new design: “I was inspired myself from the fast and dynamic movements of football. These properties are in small design elements found in the jersey again. For example, the gradient is the red away kit for the dynamics of the sport. The stylized, Germany waving flag and running out eleven lines symbolize the eleven players of the national team. This design element can be found for example on the official game ball of the tournament, the adidas SPEED CELL. ”
