Published on

Popular Major League Soccer team D.C. United has unveiled its third kit for the upcoming 2011 league season. For the first time ever, the club known for its black home and white away strips will wear red uniforms.

The D.C. United adidas 2011 third jerseys were seen for the first time on Saturday at the Washington Auto Show today at the Washington Convention Center in D.C. Club players Branko Boskvic, Andy Najar, Chris Pontius, Santino Quaranta, Clyde Simms and Josh Wolff were on hand to model the new kit.

They use the same adidas design as the recently launched Seattle Sounders 2011 away and L.A. Galaxy 2011 away shirts.

MLS Cup champions in 1996, 1997, 1999, 2004 and CONCACAF Champions’ Cup winners in 1998, D.C. United will be looking to rebound from a league-worst record in 2010 under coach Ben Olsen.
