17-year old debutante Juan Agudelo became the youngest scorer for the U.S. Men’s National Team in the modern era by netting the winner in the USA’s 1-0 win at South Africa on Wednesday.
The Colombian-born New York Red Bulls striker was one of five first-timers on an experimental United States side participating in the 2010 Nelson Mandela Cup at Green Point Stadium in Cape Town. He was assisted on the 85th minute goal by fellow newcomer Mikkel Diskerud.
