The Last France adidas Jersey (Until at Least 2018)

When the French national soccer team plays England at Wembley later on today, its players will don the now well-known France 2010/11 adidas home kit. However, given that this will be the last time that the team wears an adidas kit for the foreseeable future, the sportswear firm will mark the end of its relationship with the FFF with special gold embroidery beneath its logo. The embroidery will read 40 ANS DE PARTENARIAT (40 Years of Partnership) and 1984. 1998. 2000. The latter represents the years of France’s three major championship wins while wearing adidas – Euro 1984, World Cup 1998 and Euro 2000.

France will switch to Nike as its equipment provider starting January 1, 2011 in a deal that runs through 2018 and reportedly pays the FFF over 42 million euro per year. It will be the world’s most expensive sponsorship agreement. Les Bleus have worn adidas kits since 1970.

Nike is already the kit provider for the France national rugby team. Here’s a look at the Nike France home and away 2009/11 rugby kits.
