The USA women’s national soccer team kept their 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualification hopes alive with a 3-0 win over Costa Rica in Cancun, Mexico on Monday night.

Lauren Cheney and Abby Wambach scored for the United States to secure a spot in a home and away playoff series (to be held on November 20th and 27th) against Italy for the final spot in next summer’s tournament.
