Heather O’Reilly and Megan Rapinoe scored first half goals as the U.S. Women’s National soccer team defeated China 2-1 in an international friendly in Kennesaw, GA on Saturday night.
O’Reilly assisted on Rapinoe’s goal in the 21st minute before notching the game winner in the 37th. China’s Qu Shanshan equalized in the 37th minute against the run off play with a spectacular long-range effort.
The teams will meet again on Wednesday in Philadelphia before the USA sets off for Mexico for the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying tournament. Team USA is grouped with Costa Rica, Haiti and Guatemala in Group B of the competition.
