Belgian First Division side Club Brugge Koninklijke Voetbalvereniging (usually called Club Brugge) is a football club from Bruges in Belgium. It was founded in 1891 and is one of Belgium’s most popular teams.
Club Brugge is the only Belgian club to have played the final of the European Cup (predecessor of the UEFA Champions League). They were beaten by Liverpool FC in 1978. They also lost in the 1976 UEFA Cup final to Liverpool. Club Brugge finished last season’s Belgian First Division in 3rd place.
