Rooney’s goals came from in the 46th and the 84th minutes to take his tally for the season to 32. Dimitar Berbatov’s header with a minute left completed the scoring for United against an at times resolute Fulham defence.

American international Clint Dempsey started for Fulham for the first time since injuring his right knee on January 17th.
