After an absence of eleven years, the English Premier League is back on the networks of ESPN in the United States!
Last week, the American company announced that it had reached an agreement with Fox Sports International to broadcast up to 48 live Barclays Premier League (BPL) matches in the United States for the 2009/2010 season.
ESPN’s first televised match for the new season occurred on Saturday, August 15 with the Chelsea – Hull City matchup. Coverage will continue through the end of the season in May 2010.
ESPN currently offers coverage of the Dutch Eredivisie, English Football League, German Bundesliga, Portugese Liga and Major League Soccer on ESPN360.com. Major League Soccer games are featured on ESPN or ESPN2 on a weekly basis.
