Brazilian giants Clube de Regatas do Flamengo the released their 2016 adidas home kit. It is now on sale at World Soccer Shop<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The shirt is inspired by the adidas home jersey worn by the Rubro-Negro (Scarlet-Black) when it won the 1981 Copa Libertadores da Am\u00e9rica and Intercontinental Cup titles. Like the 1981 Flamengo home shirt it features wide red and black stripes, a v-neck and a pinstripe finish on the sleeves.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe jersey is a complement to one of the club\u2019s finest moments and the supporters who were always there on the Maracan\u00e3 Stadium – they still hold the record for higher audience in the Championship\u201d, says Andr\u00e9 Xavier, Product Manager in adidas Brazil He also remembers the amazing marks of the 80’s, when Flamengo had a public average of 86.063 fans, a record that remains unmatched. <\/p>\n

“We want to the fans to be even closer. Studies shows that Flamengo’s most valuable assets are its supporters. During the new jersey drop we will focus on this relationship. The campaign #omantoehmeu (the cloak is mine) is there to prove it. Flamengo’s biggest star is its own fans.” – Jos\u00e9 Sabino, Marketing Vice President of Flamengo.<\/p>\n

CR Flamengo will debut their 2016\/17 adidas home kit when they host Sport Recife at Rio de Janeiro’s Maracan\u00e3 Stadium on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Last Campeonato Brasileiro S\u00e9rie A champions in 2009, Flamengo finished last season in a disappointing twelfth place in Brazil’s top tier of soccer.<\/p>\n
