Among Germany’s most popular teams, FC Schalke 04 have guaranteed themselves a top six finish this season. The placing will guarantee the\u00a0 Gelsenkirchen club a spot in next season’s UEFA Europa League. As Schalke 04 heads towards the summer break, they have launched a 2015\/16 adidas third\u00a0kit that combines their origins and traditions. The highlight of its release is a video spot featuring team legend Gerald Asamoah.<\/p>\n

According to S04: The shirt features green, white and black \u2013 the colours of the town of Gelsenkirchen. All three colours play a key role in the design, as does the Schalke 04 logo. The back, excluding the seams and collar, is black. The shorts and socks are also black, which symbolises the club\u2019s close relationship with mining.<\/p>\n

The city coat of arms can be found on the rear \u2013 a further homage to Gelsenkirchen. The arms are derived from the old arms of Gelsenkirchen (church and mining tools), Buer (tilia tree) and the Lords of Horst (lion on the barry shield). The church is a canting element for “-kirchen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Marketing director Alexander Jobst explained: \u201cFC Schalke 04 feels a deep rooted connection with the city in which they are located. In the next two years we will be honouring this by wearing the city\u2019s colours and honouring the history of the area.\u201d As well as featuring a design steeped in tradition, the kit makes use of the latest adidas ClimaCool technology.<\/p>\n

The Schalke 04 2015\/16 home and away kits will launch in the coming weeks. All three will be on sale at\u00a0World Soccer Shop<\/strong><\/a>, Kitbag<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0UK Soccer Shop<\/strong><\/a> and\u00a0Subside Sports<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n
