The team celebrates its roots in the Italian community of early 20th century Buenos Aires via including the colors of Italy’s national flag on the kit’s sleeve cuffs and inside neck taping.<\/p>\n
The first of Velez two away kits continues to celebrate the club’s ties to Italy by replacing the dark blue chevron with a pair in green and red. In fact the shirt is called the “Alternativa Italiana” (Italian Alternative).<\/p>\n The second\u00a0V\u00e9lez Sarfield 14\/15 alternate kit has been used more frequently that the Italian-flavored away jersey because of its blue base. The shirt celebrates the 20th anniversary of\u00a0El Fort\u00edn’s (The Fort’s) 1994 Intercontinental Cup title with a stamp on its chest that reads\u00a0 20\u00ba CAMPEON MUNDIAL (World Champion 20th Anniversary). Its inside neck has a print of the text “el primero en ser un gran club” (the first to be a big club).<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
