A Tribute."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former England, Newcastle United and FC Barcelona manager Bobby Robson has died peacefully at age 76 after a long battle with cancer. He was truly one of the greatest football managers of all time.<\/p>\n<p><em>In my 23 years working in England there is not a person I would put an inch above Bobby Robson. I mourn the passing of a great friend, a wonderful individual, a tremendous football man and somebody with passion and knowledge of the game that was unsurpassed.<\/em>\u2013 Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sir Bobby Robson&#8217;s Career<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Player:<\/strong><br \/>\n1950-1956 Fulham<br \/>\n1956-1962 West Brom<br \/>\n1962-1967 Fulham<br \/>\n1958-1962 England (20 caps)<br \/>\n1967-1968 Vancouver Royals (player-manager)<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-src=\"http:\/\/i615.photobucket.com\/albums\/tt232\/footballer2010\/capte78fb814faa84be49b29affb6d346c4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"273\" height=\"410\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Bobby Robson is one of those people who never die, not so much for what he did in his career, for one victory more or less, but for what he knew to give to those who had, like me, the good fortune to know him and walk by his side.<\/em>\u2013 Jose Mourinho, Robson\u2019s assistant at Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Manager:<\/strong><br \/>\n1965-1966 Oxford University<br \/>\n1968 Fulham<br \/>\n1969-1982 Ipswich<br \/>\n1982-1990 England<br \/>\n1990-1992 PSV Eindhoven<br \/>\n1992-1993 Sporting Lisbon<br \/>\n1994-1996 FC Porto<br \/>\n1996-1998 Barcelona<br \/>\n1998-1999 PSV Eindhoven<br \/>\n1999-2004 Newcastle<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-src=\"http:\/\/i615.photobucket.com\/albums\/tt232\/footballer2010\/capt9cbf260d75da4b55bb89429d3c80bb9.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"409\" height=\"273\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>As a football manager he is one of the greatest of all time. He didn\u2019t just taste success here in Britain, he won trophies right across Europe. Quite simply, his record was phenomenal.<\/em>\u2013Scotland manager George Burley for Robson at Ipswich.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trophies won:<\/strong><br \/>\n1973 Texaco Cup (Ipswich)<br \/>\n1978 FA Cup (Ipswich)<br \/>\n1981 Uefa Cup (Ipswich)<br \/>\n1991 &amp; 1992 Dutch league (PSV)<br \/>\n1994 Portuguese Cup (Porto)<br \/>\n1995 &amp; 1996 Portuguese league (Porto)<br \/>\n1997 European Cup Winners&#8217; Cup (Barcelona)<br \/>\n1997 Spanish Cup (Barcelona)<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-src=\"http:\/\/i615.photobucket.com\/albums\/tt232\/footballer2010\/capt50db3c77b30e4e39a755e158446c140.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"409\" height=\"327\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Barcelona is in mourning. During his period with the club, Robson won the affection of all Cules (Barca supporters).
