US Soccer technical partner Nike has launched the red, white and blue USA 2014 World Cup away jersey. The new shirt will be available\u00a0at\u00a0World Soccer Shop<\/a>, Subside Sports<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Kitbag<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>along with the team recently released 2014\/15 home kit<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to Nike: The U.S. Men\u2019s National Soccer Team will compete in Brasil this year in a bold and deeply patriotic new away kit.<\/p>\n

The new away jersey has a modern crew-neck collar and consists of three bands representing the colors of the American flag. The base color of the jersey and the cuff of the sleeves feature a prominent red. The upper torso and top sleeves include a bold blue tone, and a white chest band extends over the middle of both sleeves.<\/p>\n

\"USA<\/p>\n

Inside the back of the neck is a pennant tab featuring thirteen red and white stripes to represent the original thirteen colonies that declared independence and formed the first states.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe USA has a profound and passionate pride in their nation,\u201d said Martin Lotti, Global Creative Director for Nike Soccer. \u201cWe wanted to create a design that reflects this in a daring and colorful fashion to give them an even more imposing appearance on the pitch.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"USA<\/p>\n

The back of the jersey features a unique and specially designed name and number font, which is modern, angular, and directly influenced by U.S. sport teams. Each number on the back of the jersey also houses a small U.S. Soccer crest at the bottom.<\/p>\n

\u201cI like the patriotic design and color scheme and I think it will look great on the pitch,\u201d said U.S. Men\u2019s National Team Captain Clint Dempsey. \u201cHopefully they will serve us well as we head into a competitive group.”<\/p>\n

\"USA<\/p>\n

The red shorts are slimmer and more tailored to the body, with a cut specifically designed to aid movement and comfort. The center back of the shorts feature Nike\u2019s signature laser vents to aid in cooling and allow for moisture management.<\/p>\n

The new away socks are also red, so the color extends impressively from the feet, through the shorts and all the way to the white chest band on the jersey.<\/p>\n

\"USA<\/p>\n

\u201cThe new kits fit really well, look great and most importantly, are really comfortable, especially when we are running all over the field for 90 minutes in all sorts of different weather,\u201d said U.S. Women\u2019s National Team striker Sydney Leroux. \u201cAll of us on the team are environmentally conscious so the fact that it is sustainably designed using recycled Dri-FIT polyester is also a big plus.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"USA<\/p>\n

In a portrait series lead by Clint Demspey and Sydney Leroux, a group of notable athletes and fans were photographed wearing the new kit to show their support for the team. Included are football players Andrew Luck and Ndamukong Suh; skateboarders Eric Koston and Sean Malto; track and field gold medalist Allyson Felix; and former U.S. National Team member Alexi Lalas.<\/p>\n
