Nike and the English Football Association have unveiled the all white England 2014 World Cup home kit. Available starting today at\u00a0World Soccer Shop<\/a>,\u00a0Kitbag<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Subside Sports<\/a>,\u00a0<\/strong>the Three Lions’ 2014-15 primary shirt will make its match debut in a friendly against Peru on May 30th at Wembley Stadium.<\/p>\n

According to Nike:\u00a0The new England home jersey is a pure and brilliant white with an engineered pinstripe in the fabric. White satin tape on the shoulders gives the jersey a distinctive shine.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwo references really stood out during the design process for the home kit \u2013 that stunning all-white kit England wore in Mexico in 1970 and the idea of the armour of English Knights,\u201d said Martin Lotti, Nike Football Global Creative Director.<\/p>\n

\"England<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cYou can see subtle references to the armour in the pinstripe, which carries a hint of shine, and in the white satin tape on the shoulders. We wanted to add some small detail that echoed the glow of the armour worn by St. George,\u201d added Lotti.<\/p>\n

The famous three lions crest has a metallic weave to create another shimmering effect, most noticable when the crest catches the light.<\/p>\n

Inside the back of the neck is a pennant tab with a graphic of silver pinstripes that together create a St. George\u2019s cross.<\/p>\n

The jersey has a modern V-neck collar, which is both functional and styled for sport.<\/p>\n

The 1970 inspiration can be seen in the full kit. The new shorts are classic white with a satin white tape along each side to create the same distinctive shine as the shoulders of the shirt.<\/p>\n

The fit of the shorts is slimmer and more tailored to the body, based on fit research and specifically cut to aid movement and comfort. The central back section of the shorts features Nike\u2019s signature laser vents to aid in cooling and allow for moisture management. The new home socks are also white.<\/p>\n

England player Wayne Rooney, said: “I’m always proud to put on the England kit and with these ones it’ll be no different. I can’t wait to get out to Brasil and play in them this summer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nike has also collaborated with renowned English typographer Neville Brody to create a new font for the names and numbers on the back of this England jersey.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has been an extraordinary honour to design the fonts for the English jersey,\u201d said Brody. \u201cThe core inspiration was to focus on the intersection between flair and workmanlike reliability. Small touches emphasise the idea of innovation, invention and surprise, built around a more geometric structure. The industrialised suggestion of a stencil was simultaneously based on a pinstripe motif, combining style with no-frills efficiency.\u201d<\/p>\n
