Seattle Sounders FC have unveiled their 2025 away jersey, dubbed “The Salish Sea Kit,” as part of adidas’ Community Kit collection. The jersey, which will be worn across all competitions including MLS, CONCACAF Champions Cup, US Open Cup, and Leagues Cup, features a distinctive design that pays homage to the Pacific Northwest’s indigenous heritage and its vital waterways. The kit’s color palette draws from the cool greens and blues of the region’s coastal waters, while incorporating unique patterns inspired by traditional Coast Salish weaving techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sounders FC 2025 away jersey’s design emerged from a collaborative effort with indigenous artists from three local tribes – Connie McCloud of the Puyallup Tribe, Gail White Eagle of the Muckleshoot Tribe, and Danielle Morsette of the Suquamish Tribe. Their input helped create the geometric pattern that characterizes the kit, drawing specifically from traditional Southern Coast Salish twilling and twining techniques that have been passed down through generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A notable feature of the Seattle Sounders 2025 adidas away jersey is the inscription “Water Is Sacred” on the lower left front, presented in both English and Southern Lushootseed, the traditional language of several Coast Salish tribes in the region. The neck area incorporates a unique design element that combines three symbolic components: a water wave, an orca’s tail, and a flowing “S” that represents both the Seattle Sounders and the Salish Sea, anchored by the club’s founding year, 1974.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
