German Bundesliga side 1. FC K\u00f6ln have released the 2020\/21 version of their now Karneval kits despite the annual festival being canceled because of Covid-19 this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"1.<\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The jerseys are provided by the team\u2019s technical sponsor uhlsport. The outfield shirt has a red and white checkered design while the goalkeeper kit is bright blue and yellow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a release from Die Gei\u00dfb\u00f6cke (The Billy Goats):<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s Karneval kit is the seventh in FC history. It takes inspiration from a Karneval classic: the Lappenclown costume. In red and white it is a sign of FC\u2019s connection to the city, with 11 symbols towards K\u00f6ln and Karneval. From Kr\u00e4tzchen, Dom and Tr\u00f6mmelche to Colonius and Krone. Along with the FC badge, the city emblem is also on the kit. There are further gold emblems on the bottom of the shirt and the sleeves.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The kit comes in a reusable gym bag that is also in the design of the Lappenclown. There is also the usual goalkeeper variation, available in blue and gold.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Melanie Steinhilber, managing director at uhlsport: \u201c1. FC K\u00f6ln is part of life in K\u00f6ln just like Karneval is. Even when Karneval isn\u2019t able to take place, the people carry around the happiness in their hearts. The new FC Karneval kit should bring that to light.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For every kit sold, the 1. FC K\u00f6ln Foundation will donate \u20ac1,11 to the RheinEnergieStiftung Kultur, who will promote a certain culture project in the region. Alexander Wehrle: \u201cKarneval is part of the K\u00f6ln culture \u2013 we want to show our solidary and support with this small gesture.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
