The Football Association of Wales (FAW) and new kit supplier SUDU have officially unveiled the home and away kit collection, introducing the new Wales (or Cymru in Welsh) 2026/28 jersey. This release represents the inaugural kit of the partnership between the FAW and SUDU.

The shirt will be worn by the national team throughout Wales’ 2026/27 and 2027/28 campaigns, which includes the UEFA Nations League, EURO 2028 qualifiers, and international friendlies.

The development of the Wales 2026/28 SUDU home kit took place over the course of one year, relying on direct collaboration between the design team, the FAW, and first-team players from both the men’s and women’s squads. Through dedicated fit sessions and design workshops, the players themselves influenced the overall look, feel, and fit of the kit to deliver a performance-led design tailored to the athletes.

The narrative behind the home jersey centers on history and heritage, acknowledging the past of Wales while moving forward. To construct this concept, the design team collaborated with Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales to examine historical archival pieces, focusing specifically on the traditional craft of Welsh double cloth weaving.

Insights gained from these museum archives directly informed the visual aesthetics of the Wales 2026/28 home kit. The final design features a bespoke pattern based on elements of traditional Welsh tapestry. On the pro version of the jersey, this pattern is integrated with an embossed finish set against a statement shade of iconic Welsh red.
Heritage elements are further integrated into the smaller details of the shirt. Located on the back of the jersey is a scroll carrying the words ‘Gorau Chwarae Cyd Chwarae’, which translates to ‘Best Play is Team Play’, stitching a foundational principle directly into the design.
