Coventry City Football Club have released their home kit for the 2026/27 season, the shirt the team will wear as the club returns to the Premier League for the first time in 25 years. Produced by hummel, the kit is set to be worn across the Premier League, EFL Cup, and FA Cup this season. Here, we outline the design details that have been confirmed for the release.

The 26/27 home shirt is built around a deeper Sky Blue base, a shade chosen to reflect the color worn by Coventry City during their 1987 FA Cup win at Wembley. Rather than standing as a simple seasonal update, the base colour is intended to connect this year’s kit to that specific result in the club’s history, a moment still closely associated with the club by supporters.

Striped detailing runs across the front of the 2026/27 home jersey in a four-tone sky blue jacquard pattern, said to draw on the scenes in Coventry city centre following the 1987 Cup win. Fine navy pinstripes run through each of the stripes, a further reference to the design of the shirt worn in that final.

Navy is also used on the collar, alongside the hummel chevrons that appear as part of the brand’s standard design. Rather than continuing uniformly across the shirt, the stripe pattern fades out gradually toward the back, a choice made to leave a clear panel for player names and squad numbers.

A further link to 1987 appears at the back neck, where a stylised version of the number has been placed on the shirt itself. The same number is also woven into the internal neck tape, meaning the reference sits on the inside of the garment as well as on its exterior, in a section of the shirt worn closest to the player.
