Manchester United Football Club and adidas have unveiled a unique collection that bridges two defining elements of Manchester’s cultural identity: football and music. The collaboration brings together the legendary football club and The Stone Roses, one of the city’s most influential bands, in a capsule that reimagines iconic visual elements from the band’s history through contemporary sportswear design.

The centerpiece of the collection is the Manchester United x The Stone Roses Jersey, which features an all-over graphic print drawing from the band’s distinctive artwork. The design incorporates visual references to The Stone Roses’ unmistakable aesthetic, including the famous lemon iconography and artwork from the “I Wanna Be Adored” single sleeve, originally created by guitarist John Squire.

The jersey is constructed from jacquard fabric, prioritizing everyday wearability and durability. Both short-sleeved and long-sleeved versions are available, giving fans options for different styling preferences and weather conditions.

The artistic approach reflects Manchester’s reputation as a city where music and football intersect organically. The Stone Roses emerged from the Madchester scene of the late 1980s and early 1990s, a cultural movement that defined a generation and established Manchester as a global music capital.
By integrating the band’s visual language with Manchester United’s heritage, the collection acknowledges how these parallel cultural forces have shaped the city’s identity. The collaboration translates the band’s album artwork and single designs into wearable pieces that function beyond the stadium or concert venue.
